.about

Olumide Olajide
(Olu)

I'm Olu — a designer and builder based in Calgary. I've spent more than fifteen years moving between disciplines that don't usually share a résumé: interior design and architectural visualization, a Master's degree in animation, senior product and UX design, co-founding a company, and lately building and running my own AI infrastructure.

What ties it together is that I like to make the whole thing — not just one layer of it. I design in code (React, Tailwind, Next.js), so the gap between a Figma file and a shipped product mostly disappears. I own design systems as the single source of truth engineers actually build from. And I'm drawn to problems where the interaction patterns don't exist yet: developer tooling at Unity, automotive HMI, VR for spatial design.

These days a lot of my time goes into AI — not as a fancy buzzword, but as something I build with my hands. I co-founded No-Q, an event-commerce platform, and I run olajidai, a self-hosted AI server I built from the operating system up: local language models, a Dockerized service stack, and an n8n automation pipeline that produces content end to end. I write small full-stack tools on the Claude API when I need them. None of it started as a job — it started as curiosity I couldn't put down.
